Attending First Baptist Church is an inspiring and enjoyable experience for many people. Interesting, heart-warming, and spiritually stimulating things are frequently taking place. Often lives are changed. Our roots go back to at least 1827 when members petitioned to form a constitution and become a separate church. Jesse Mercer was called as the first pastor on January 20, 1828. Thirty-one pastors have served since that time. The church's stated mission is to "Seek Him Constantly, Serve Him Faithfully, Share Him Boldly."
Welcome to Washington! You are invited to enjoy our fabulous buffet luncheon, 11:30 - 2:00. Tickets are $10 and include turkey and all the fixings, roast pork, squash and sweet potato casseroles, potato salad, green beans, homemade desserts and drinks! Afterwards come upstairs and see our beautiful sanctuary with hand-carved arches soaring above your head and stained-glass windows reflecting the colors of the rainbow!
