The Kiwanis Club of Washington

The Kiwanis Club of Washington is one of the oldest Kiwanis Clubs in the world having been chartered in 1920. Having as its motto, “Serving the Children of the World,” it embraces the service ideals of Kiwanis International and has a rich history of projects, donations, sponsorships, and civic involvement which have greatly benefited the community of Washington, Wilkes County, Georgia.

The spring Tour of Homes has been a major project of the club for well over 50 years. It showcases not only the fantastic antebellum homes for which Washington is famous, but also other homes, old and new, with historical and architectural significances of their own. The tour annually attracts as many as 1,200 visitors and is a terrific boom to the town and its economy.
